Gu Long: Legend of Wuxia (古龍風雲錄)
Developed and Produced by Heluo Studio, Gu Long: Legend of Wuxia immerses players in the expansive and nuanced world of wuxia, with narrative-driven quests and strategic combat that pay homage to Gu Long’s novels. As a game designer, I developed the mechanism and balance for 3 gameplay systems, creating data models and UX layouts that guided the game's user experience. To ensure adaptability, I optimized spreadsheets and Unity editor tools, allowing the team to easily expand game content. Throughout development, I collaborated closely with a team of designers, programmers, and artists to prototype and refine game mechanics and streamline production across the prototype phases and vertical-slice phases.

Game Overview
In Gu Long: Legend of Wuxia, players navigate a vast martial arts world inspired by over 57 of Gu Long’s works. The game world includes iconic locations, from bustling Luoyang to the revered Shaolin Temple, all filled with secrets, encounters, and challenges.
The combat system builds on Heluo’s signature tactical grid-based gameplay, introducing a unique "flaw of stance" mechanic where strategic positioning and combinations of martial arts techniques are key to overcoming enemies. By blending multiple skills, adjusting tactics, and forging alliances with legendary characters, players can shape their path in a world of endless possibilities and honor-driven conflicts.
